Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds to treated areas 2 days after treatment (we recommend this indefinitely). Daily sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 is always recommended.
-
In the event that you may have additional questions or concerns regarding your treatment or suggested home product/post-treatment care, consult your esthetician immediately.
Dermaplane Exfoliation
-
More sensitive skin may experience some redness after the first couple of sessions. This normally goes away after 2 to 3 hours.
Dermaplaning may cause minor superficial abrasions which may not appear until a day or two following your treatment. If this should occur, please contact your Esthetician so that they can do a post-treatment follow up with you.
The treated area of skin may feel slightly tender and appear red afterwards.
You may occasionally experience skin peeling and appearances may be similar to mild sunburn. These effects will resolve naturally and should be much improved after 48 hours but may take longer to settle.
It may take multiple treatments to visualize improvements.

Avoid using scrubs for 1 week.
Do not use any products on your face which contain exfoliating ingredients for at least 1 week to avoid irritating your skin any further.
Avoid any makeup application. Do not wear any makeup for at least 24-48 hours post treatment for best results.
You must avoid any other facial treatments for at least 2 weeks after your dermaplaning.
Follow a simple skincare routine after your treatment. After your dermaplaning treatment, you need to follow a simple skincare routine for 1 week. Instead of using any harsh cleaning products, use a very mild cleanser to cleanse your face. Also, you should apply moisturizers as well as skin serums approved by your esthetician, especially those with hyaluronic acid, after the treatment.
You need to avoid using any products that contain aggressive ingredients such as Retinol or harsh acids for at least a week.
Do not engage in any strenuous exercise.
You should avoid strenuous exercises for at least 24 hours post treatment. It is also important to avoid the use of steam rooms or saunas.

Chemical Peel
-
For best results, it is advised to avoid sun exposure and the following products and procedures at least 1 week prior your treatment:
● Electrolysis
● Waxing
● Depilatory creams
● Laser hair removal
● Any exfoliating products
● Any products that may dry or irritate your skin, such as those containing salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acids, vitamin C, hydroquinone, retinoids, or prescription medications.
● Shaving of the area to be treated
-
● 2-3 days after treatment you can expect mild to moderate peeling or flaking similar to a sunburn, this will subside within a few days. This is a result of the peel exfoliating the top layer of skin and new cells surfacing. These conditions will disappear as the skin adjusts to the treatments. Improvements from the peel may be subtle at first. With every peel you should notice your skin feeling smoother and softer and appearing more even toned.
● Please do not pick or pull your skin at any time after your peel, as it can cause scarring. Your skin will take about 4 to 7 days to completely peel depending on the strength of the peel or treatment you received. Chemical peel on body, chest, or arms often takes longer (up to 3 weeks).
● "Peeling" can be a side effect, but may not necessarily occur. Lack of peeling does NOT indicate that the chemical peel was ineffective. No peeling, to light peeling, does not at all indicate that the peel is ineffective. Everyone is different and therefore results will vary.
● Swelling, redness, itching, stinging, darkening of any skin imperfections may occur, this is completely normal and will subside within 3-7 days.
● Your skin will be very sun sensitized, daily use of at least SPF 30 is required.
-
● AVOID DIRECT SUN EXPOSURE until you have finished peeling.
● Do not exfoliate or use any products with any acids such as lactic, salicylic or glycolic on your skin for the next two weeks products as this can severely damage or irritate the skin during the entire healing process.
● Avoid any skin care products containing harsh or drying ingredients, including scrubs for two weeks.
● Discontinue retinol and tretinoin use for two weeks or until peeling has subsided.
● Wait two weeks after your peel for Botox or Fillers.
● Do not pick or peel off the skin, as this may cause scarring and/or hyperpigmentation.
● Avoid Waxing, electrolysis, depilatory creams such as Nair, and laser hair removal for two weeks.
● Avoid medical facial treatments or procedures for two weeks.
● Avoid working out and sweating for the next three days.
● If your skin becomes itchy at any time, you may use a 1% hydrocortisone cream (any brand).
● The first evening after your peel, DO NOT wash your face until the following day. For the next two weeks cleanse very gently with a gentle cleanser or a sensitive skin cleanser. Pat dry, do not rub. Moisturize with a gentle or sensitive skin moisturizer. Avoid serums unless told to apply by your Esthetician.
● Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
● Drink lots of water.
● Moisturizer should be applied at least twice a day but can be applied more frequently for hydration and to decrease the appearance of flaking.
● Do not go to a tanning bed for at least two weeks post procedure. This practice should be discontinued due to increased risk of skin cancer and signs of aging.
● FINALLY Use SPF 30 or higher consistently throughout the day. REAPPLY, REAPPLY, REAPPLY, for this will limit your skin from burning in the sun (even when it’s cloudy out or when sitting by a window) and will minimize the chances of more sun damage and discoloration.
